The mission of the Center for Family
and Entrepreneurial Enterprises is to engage in research and other scholarly
activities that make significant contributions to the fields of Entrepreneurship,
Entrepreneurship Education, Entrepreneurial Leadership, Women Entrepreneurial
Leadership, Family Enterprise, and Emerging Business Development (SME
Development). This center will combine the successful initiatives of the
Center for Family Enterprise (CFE) and the Center for the Advancement
of Small Business (CASB) with the school’s nationally recognized
achievements in the field of entrepreneurship education.
Primary initiatives and subject areas of research include entrepreneurship
education, leadership, lifecycle needs of family businesses, managerial
issues affecting emerging business viability, knowledge management for
entrepreneurial firms, and interdisciplinary entrepreneurship education
for women. CFEE will continue the SBPM commitment to develop mutually
beneficial programs that integrate academic objectives with the real needs
of the university’s external business community.
